Classic Ford Models in Gastonia, NCClassic cars draw in car enthusiasts from all around for a chance to see them. Many car collectors would love the chance to own more classic cars. As one of the leaders in the automotive industry, Ford has an extensive history of making iconic car designs. As a result, Ford’s history includes many classic cars. Here is a look at five stunning classic Ford models.

1961 Ford Lincoln Continental

In the past, Lincoln was a part of Ford and was responsible for many classic cars. When we think about classic cars, many people think of large flat-sided boxy designs such as the 1961 Ford Lincoln Continental. It helped save the Lincoln brand after several years of poorly received designs. Its notable features included a boxy design with a flat hood and convertible top. It also had suicide doors and whitewall tires. It became the basis for many other car designs around its time.

Shelby 427 Cobra

The Shelby 427 Cobra also became a template for many classic cars that came after it. It was designed to be small and sporty with high-performance stats. To build it, Ford partnered with well-known designer Carroll Shelby, developed a new chassis, and installed a new V-8 engine to get the level of performance he wanted. The Cobra has a well-known curved body design that stands out from anything before it.

2019 Ford Ecosport at Tindol FordThe focus of most car companies has shifted toward being eco-friendly. Even the biggest trucks are making the move to more efficient engines and electric vehicle designs. Ford developed the EcoSport to spearhead its move to more eco-friendly vehicles, and the results are worth taking a look at. The EcoSport is packed with features that make it a good option for most drivers. Here are four reasons you need a 2019 Ford EcoSport.

  1. Bring Everything

The engines in the Ford EcoSport are designed for efficiency without sacrificing power. They may not be the quickest ones available, but the three- and four-cylinder options have the power needed to bring everything with you. The three-cylinder engine option is more efficient and can tow up to 1,400 pounds. If you need a bit more than that, there is a four-cylinder option that tows up to 2,000 pounds. That’s enough for small off-road vehicles or watercraft. That way, you can bring all the things you want for a fun vacation.

  1. Entertain Everyone

Taking a trip in the Ford EcoSport can be a lot of fun, too, thanks to its infotainment system that can entertain everyone. It comes with Sync 3 system that comes equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. You can connect your smartphone and have access to many of your apps. If you use Waze to navigate, SYNC 3 is a helpful feature to have, since it’s specially designed to integrate seamlessly with Waze. Plus, you can play your music using Bluetooth to make the trip even more epic.

But if you want the best cheesecake the city offers, you should check out one of these locations.

  1. Webb Custom Kitchen

The Webb Custom Kitchen is a new American restaurant with a lovely dining room just off Franklin Boulevard and South Street. Each menu offers a list of culinary experiences made with fresh ingredients and an eye for details, and that includes a list of wines imported from all around the world. After the main course you can choose from a fine list of desserts and nightcaps, and that includes a tall New York-style cheesecake. 2019 Ford Edge at Tindol Ford in Gastonia, NCThe Ford Edge is a two-row, midsize crossover, bigger than the EcoSport and Escape but smaller than the Explorer or the Expedition. As such, the Edge offers a nice compromise between the size and capacity of the Explorer and the efficiency and maneuverability of the Escape. Of course, the 2019 also gives you plenty of reasons why you should buy one even if you don’t compare it to Ford’s other SUVs.

  1. Two Strong Engine Options

The three regular trims come with a 2.0-liter I-4 engine. Normally that’s small for a midsize crossover, but thanks to the EcoBoost turbo design the engine pumps out 245 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque. It can also give you an EPA-estimated 29 mpg on the highway. Then there’s the engine on the special ST trim, a 2.7-liter V-6. This engine also comes with an EcoBoost turbocharger, and thanks to that you get up to 335 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque.

  1. The ST

The 2019 Edge ST is the first official SUV trim to come from the Ford Performance Team, and they did more than just drop in a bigger engine. The ST comes with a set of paddle shifters behind the steering wheel, giving you full control over the shifting with a quick move of your hand. You also get a Sport Mode button, and when you press it the Edge will start shifting aggressively, rev matching during shifts, and adjusting its performance based on your driving style. Sport Mode also boosts the engine sound in the cabin.

  1. Hwy 55 Burgers, Shakes, and Fries

Despite the name, you’ll find the Hwy 55 in Gastonia in Franklin Square between I-85 and US-74. Hwy 55 is a popular North Carolina franchise diner, and although it’s expanding outwards you’ll still find most of its locations in the state. At Hwy 55, the burgers are the stars, which is why they make a point of hand-pattying each one and never freezing the meat. They offer options like the Carolina Classic topped with onions, chili, and slaw, or you can have one covered in bacon and pimento cheese.

2019 Ford Ranger vs 2019 Ford F-150 at Tindol FordFord has recently brought back the Ranger, a midsize pickup truck, to complement the full-size F-150. This gives Ford truck buyers some extra variety and something to choose if a regular F-150 happens to be a little bigger or a little more pricey than you’d like. Both trucks are good options if you want a tough, dependable pickup truck that can get you and your cargo to your destination, so finding the right truck depends on what you need.

Power and Towing

Both the 2019 Ranger and 2019 F-150 lead their classes in some categories, but how do they stack up against each other? The Ford F-150 comes with a total of six engine options, including an efficient EcoBoost V-6, a powerful V-8, a diesel engine, and a performance engine for the F-150 Raptor. The Ranger only comes with a single engine, a 2.3-liter I-4, but it’s able to get 270 horsepower out of that engine. The F-150 can tow over 11,000 pounds with the diesel and V-8 engines depending on the configuration, and the Ranger tows up to 7,500 pounds.

Configurations

The 2019 F-150 can come with a one-row Regular Cab, a Super Cab with two rows and half rear doors, and the SuperCrew with two full sets of doors and enough room to comfortably seat adults in the back. The Ranger comes with its own Super Cab and SuperCrew sizes, but the dimensions are smaller to match the smaller truck. The F-150 box can be 5.5, 6.5, or 8 feet in length, and the Ranger offers 5 and 6-foot models. Both trucks can have a 2×4 or 4×4 drivetrain.
