Trim Levels (Exterior)

There are six different trim levels available for the 2019 Expedition: the XLT, XLT MAX, Limited, Limited Max, Platinum, and Platinum Max. All of the trims have a standard class-four trailer hitch receiver included. They also come with privacy glass for the second and third rows as well as the cargo area. The XLT starts the exterior features with a windshield wiper de-icer and rear window washer and defroster. The XLT MAX adds in power adjustable heated mirrors with security approach lamps. It also has integrated blind spot mirrors. The Limited trim also offers a hands-free foot-activated tailgate and power-deployable running boards. The Limited MAX adds an auto-dimming feature to the driver's side mirror to help you while night driving. Platinum owners enjoy all of these features along with rain-sensing windshield wipers and a panoramic sunroof. There are also standard LED fog lamps on both Platinum trims. When you get the Platinum MAX, you'll enjoy all of these features plus roof rail crossbars to support your extra luggage.

Engine (Power)

The Expedition has enough power to keep up with anything life hands you. The standard engine is a 3.5-L EcoBoost engine with auto start-stop technology. There is also a ten-speed SelectShift automatic transmission in the vehicle. There is an option to add a two-speed automatic four-wheel-drive with neutral towing capabilities to 4x4 versions of this SUV.

Performance

The Expedition includes electronic stability control and trailer sway control. If you choose a 4x4 model, these trims include a terrain management system. This system allows you to adjust your traction on the fly when you are in the sand or on loose gravel. The 4X4 trims also include hill descent control. When you turn on hill descent control, the braking system automatically kicks in to keep you stable during steep descents.

Interior

Once you and your passengers step inside this SUV, you'll find enough room to keep seven comfortable. The second and third-row bench seats are split to give you flexible cargo options. Cruise control is standard on all trim levels. The XLT helps keep your smart devices charged with four available USB ports. The Limited trim offers these features along with heated and ventilated front seats. There are also heated second-row outboard seats and third-row power-folding headrests. The entertainment steps up with an upgrade to the Sync 3 system as well as a B&O sound system and wireless charging in the media hub. The Platinum trim includes additional interior features like power reclining third-row seats and an onboard Wi-Fi hotspot.

Safety Features

The safety canopy of air bags surrounds all three rows in this SUV. The XLT includes the SecuriLock anti-theft system. It does not allow the engine to start unless the driver knows the proper code. An SOS post-crash system alerts others you need help by turning on your lights and horn. Platinum owners also receive inflatable seatbelts for the second row.
