Trim Levels (Exterior)
The 2019 Ford Escape is available in four trims and seven configurations. Front-wheel drive comes standard with the S, SE, SEL, and Titanium. All but the S trim are also available in four-wheel-drive. All trims come standard with four-wheel independent suspension, Easy Fuel capless fuel filter, power side view with integrated blind spot mirrors, power windows and door locks, and MyKey. The SE and SEL trims provide a few additional standard options including 1.5L EcoBoost I-4 with auto start-stop technology, and intelligent access with push-button start. Exclusive to the Titanium trim are features like an audio system from Sony with 10 speakers and 2.0L EcoBoost I-4 with auto start-stop technology.
Engine (Power)
The 2019 Ford Escape comes in three different engines depending on your trim level. The S trim comes standard with a 2.5 liter, I-4 engine that produces 170 pound-feet of torque and 168 horsepower. Move up to the SE and SEL and you have a 1.5 liter, I-4 engine producing 179 pound-feet of torque and 177 horsepower. The Titanium level offers even more power with a 2.0-liter, I-4 engine with 275 pound-feet of torque and 245 horsepower.
Performance
The 2019 Ford Escape EcoBoost engines pair nicely with the six-speed automatic transmission with programmed shift points to assist in balancing fuel mileage. Paddle shifters are present for the 1.5 and 2.0 liter engines, while the 2.5 has a sport mode switch to change gears on the lever. It's electronic torque vectoring dabs the inside front brake when taking a corner, making turns smooth and sharp giving the 2019 Ford Escape great body control and superior handling over other crossovers in its field.
Interior
The 2019 Ford Escape models come standard with many of the features that have routinely made it a top seller. Starting with the S level, you have a rear 60/40 split fold-flat bench, steering wheel-mounted cruise control, AM/FM stereo, tilt/telescoping steering column, primary monitor touch screen, speed sensitive volume, and voice-activated radio. Move up to the SE and add heated front seats, remote start system, SYNC 3 with 8-inch color LCD capacitive touch screen with AppLink, 911-Assist, two smart-charging USB ports, SiriusXM Radio with a six-month trial subscription, FordPass Connect, one-touch up or down front and rear power windows, and intelligent access.
Safety Features
Ford's commitment to safety continues with features including AdvanceTrac with RSC, Safety Canopy System with side-curtain air bags and rollover sensor, child-safety rear door locks, LATCH Lower Anchors and Tether Anchors for Children, rear view camera, SOS Post-Crash Alert System, and SecuriLock Passive Anti-Theft System coming standard on all trims, A perimeter alarm is standard on the SE, SEL and Titanium versions. All 2019 Ford Escape trims have a Ford Safe and Smart Package option available as well.
