Trim Levels (Exterior)
The 2019 Ford Ranger is all-new, although some of its design cues and features are similar to those you'll find in the latest F-150. It is further customizable with two cab configurations, which are the extended cab (Ford calls it the SuperCab) and the crew cab. With the SuperCab, the Ranger has a 6-foot bed, while the crew cab pairs with a 5-foot bed. The Ranger is available in three trim levels, which are XL, XLT, and Lariat. Exterior equipment on the base XL trim includes a manually locking tailgate, 16-inch steel wheels, and automatic headlights. In the middle of the pack is the XLT, which comes with an upgraded front grille, 17-inch alloy wheels, and fog lights. The top Lariat boasts LED headlights and taillights, 18-inch alloy wheels, and an LED cargo lamp. An additional FX4 Off-Road package is available on all trim levels, which adds upgraded suspension tuning and shocks, off-road tires, an electronically locking rear axle, underbody skid plates, a terrain management system, a low-speed crawl control system, and front tow hooks.
Engine (Power)
Every 2019 Ranger comes equipped with a 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 310 pound-feet of torque and 270 horsepower. This unit pairs with a 10-speed automatic transmission that delivers smooth shifting and a comfortable ride.
Performance
When properly equipped, the all-new Ranger can tow up to 7,500 pounds and haul up to 1,860 pounds of payload. These capacities are the best in the midsize pickup segment. In order to tow the maximum capacity, you'll need to add the Trailer Tow package, which comes with a Class IV trailer hitch and a four-pin/seven-pin wiring harness. This package is available on all three trim levels of the truck.
Interior
Within the cabin of the XL trim level, features include power windows, a four-speaker audio system with a 3.5-inch central display screen, a USB port, an auxiliary jack, and cloth upholstery. The midlevel trim adds a 110-volt power outlet, two additional speakers in the audio system, a 4.2-inch central display screen with Ford's SYNC infotainment system, keyless entry, remote tailgate locking functionality, a 4G Wi-Fi hotspot, and an extra USB port. The top Lariat has appealing features like leather upholstery, heated and power-adjustable front seats, an 8-inch touch screen, Ford's SYNC 3 infotainment system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone integration, and dual-zone automatic climate control. You can also add features to this top trim level like navigation and a premium Bang & Olufsen audio system.
Safety Features
Every 2019 Ranger comes with a suite of standard safety features, which includes a rearview camera, anti-lock brakes, advanced air bags throughout the cabin, stability and traction control, and forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking. The XLT also has the Ford Co-Pilot360 system, which has blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-keep assist.
